Now that we known casinos will be here in Philly, it's time to address how our 'BILLION DOLLAR CASINO OPERATORS' have been given carte-blanche to 'FLEECE' and 'BREED' compulsive casino gamblers who will eventually become criminals. For over four years I've been addressing and proving that there is a major flaw in our gaming law and it's not where our casinos will be built and who owns them, its how there are no safeguards or provisions in place that will protect today's casino gamblers and future casino gamblers from becoming casino gambling degenerates. In other words, our casinos just like those in other states are operating with no consumer protection, they're operating like amusement parks with no safety belts or cages on the rides. And to make it look like our gaming operators and state officials are addressing this most certain outcome they're going to have things like a 1-800 GAMBLER get help number, and a 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week hotline that provides crisis counseling. There's also self-exclusion for those who got so 'HIGH' on casino gambling that they destroyed themselves and in most cases their innocent families. Do you know of any other entertainment venue or industry in our country that has such an option? All of these good intentions and provisions address the obsessive gambling problem after one becomes a casino gambling junkie.
If we do nothing to stop the 'BREEDING' then be prepared to face the same ill-effect that we have been addressing since the sixties when the youth of America started entertaining themselves with drugs, it's called getting 'HIGH.' Today they're two bills, one in our House of Representatives (HB 783) and one in our Senate (SB 423) that will make the casino operators who are already tracking their patrons' money and time spent gambling with COMP-CARDS to send monthly statements. This would enable gamblers and their family members to spot a loved one's gambling problem before it gets out of hand.
You can help get this legislation passed by contacting your state legislators and telling them you support (HB 783) and (SB 423)
