  • Impressive. One of this video watcher a "live book" about Armstrong. His message: ------------------------------------- Hi David, Sorry for taking so long to reply. I'm not on that video nor was I there. I'm a life-long Louis Armstrong nut so I know when he did everything. There are two books that I get my information about videos from, "All Of Me-The Complete Discography of Louis Armstrong" by Jos Willems & "Louis Armstrong On The Screen" by Dr. Klaus Stratemann. The Louis clip you posted is from the first of two BBC-TV shows. Each show was 45 minutes & they were taped on the same day, July 2, 1968. Aside from Louis the rest of the band is Tyree Glenn-trombone, Joe Muranyi-clarinet, Marty Napoleon-piano, Buddy Catlett-bass & Danny Barcelona-drums. Louis died three years later, on July 6, 1971. He was only on the road full time for another two months after this clip. By mid September of 1968 he was seriously ill in the hospital & was out of commisiion for most of 1969. I hope that's enough information for you. Best wishes, Phil ------------------------------ Phil, I am very been thankful by the information. Thank you so much.

  • I wanted to start with some clips that until now hasn't been put on YouTube.! A tune by Fats Domino: Blueberry Hill with lots of vocal by Louis I'm extremely happy! Today I've managed to get the first series of clips on YouTube. You know, I'm a YouTube watcher from the start (feb 2005), I discovered YouTube long before it was well known as nowadays. And certainly in my country the Netherlands, the hype started much later. From the beginning I wanted to share my DVD's on YouTube. Ever since I was looking for software to convert DVD into Mpeg-4 files. It was frustrated! I couldn't find anything right which was working well and simple to handle. My problem was also that I haven't had any help from anyone! But until last week, I discovered a fitting freeware program. And with much blood, sweat and tears I finally get this result! Now my first series is about a concert from the Louis Armstrong All Stars. It was located in: La Bussola-Focette in Italy. The concert was on thursday, may 7 th 1959. It is featuring two of my biggest idols in Jazz. Louis Armstrong and Trummy Young. Of course Louis Armstrong! I'm afraid I can't tell you anymore news about him. And then Trummy Young whom I've seen just once in person. An experience I will never forget! I could write a lot more about Trummy. But not all at once! • La vie en rose Louis Armstrong
  • The video is as good as I could make it in 30 minutes (and with Movie Maker).. I only added the photos so I could upload the song, and Youtube doesn't allow straight MP3 files.. So I added the photos.. By the way, thanks for all the comments and ratings- I appreciate all of them.
