Behalve theorie, biedt de opleiding je vooral ook veel praktijk: excursies, internationaal veldwerk, uitwisselingen en stages zijn belangrijke studieonderdelen. Verder maakt de combinatie van techniek en geologie de studie zeer uitdagend.
