  • Rev. Spike takes his own sweet time reviewing the drink "Bug Juice" ("Berry Raspberry") with many unnecessary cuts, accents, spectacles and needlessly stupid video effects. This video is WAY TOO LONG! My friend Tim and his brother Brian can be blamed for encouraging me to do this. My old computer can be blamed for technical problems - and I don't have a video camera, just a webcam. (For now.) If you don't get a kick out of it, so what, I'll do more anyway!

  • In May, residents of Gate City, Va., may get to choose whether or not mixed beverages can be served at restaurants. But to get the referendum on the ballot, about 40 more signatures need to be collected before the end of Friday. Officials are confident they will gather the support to put it to vote, and that serving mixed beverages can spur economic development on several fronts. Video by Rain Smith, timesnews.net.

  • The second short film where RevSpike reviews a drink unknown to him. This time it's a drink called "FU2". This video is longer than the first one, doesn't have any weird accents, and has no weird sunglasses. (There are also no puppets in it.) It features an interesting bit of music used as the short opening intro and longer outro which should be somewhat familiar. Although you may easily recognize the melody, this instrumental originally written and recorded by the biggest band of 60's is given a new twist and performed reggae style. The track's name is listed not as the song we know and love, but instead as "Independent Anniversary Ska". It is played by the Skatelites. Although there are no writer's credits on the disk, I wonder if the title change indicates that someone other than the rightful songwriters received credit for it. I found the track buried among many great early ska tracks on the CD: "Intensified! original Ska 1962-1966" on Mango (Island).
